About White Sand Beach (Hat Sai Khao)
This is the island's longest beach and the busiest by far. It's where most of the hotels, bars and restaurants cluster, so if you want everything within walking distance and a lively scene after dark, this is your spot. The palm-lined sand is genuinely nice and the sunsets are excellent.
Honest take: don't come here expecting solitude or a pristine, untouched strip. It's the most built-up beach on Ko Chang, and it feels like it. It's popular for good reason, but the trade-off for convenience is crowds and development.
If peace and quiet matter more to you than nightlife and easy access, base yourself further down the west coast and just visit here when you want the buzz.

How to get there
The main hub beach on the northwest coast. From the ferry piers (Ao Sapparot/Center Point) it is a 10-15 min shared songthaew (red taxi) ride, roughly 50-60 THB per person. It sits at the top of the west-coast road so all island taxis pass through.
