About Klong Prao Beach (Hat Khlong Phrao)
This central-west-coast beach is long, spread out and a lot calmer than White Sand up north. A river-mouth estuary cuts across it, which gives it a distinct feel and breaks up the sand into stretches you can have largely to yourself. Couples and families tend to gravitate here.
It's underrated. You get the length and the relaxed vibe without the wall-to-wall development, and you're close to Klong Plu Waterfall for an easy day out. At low tide the sand flats open up wide and are good for a long walk.
If you want a mellow base that's still central on the island, this is a smart pick.
Highlights
- Long, spread-out sand with a calm feel
