About Klong Plu Waterfall (Nam Tok Khlong Phlu)

This is the waterfall to see if you only do one on Ko Chang. A short, easy jungle trail leads to a big plunge pool you can actually swim in, and unlike the island's other falls this one runs strongly all year rather than drying to a trickle.

It's genuinely worth it and the best of the bunch for a swim. The flip side is popularity: it gets busy in the middle of the day, so the pool and trail can feel crowded.

Go early to have the place closer to yourself. The trail is short and easy enough for most people.

Highlights

  • Big swimmable plunge pool
  • Short, easy jungle trail to reach it
  • Runs strongly year-round, unlike the island's other falls
  • The island's most reliable and popular waterfall

Tips

  • Go early to beat the midday crowds
  • Bring swimwear, the plunge pool is the whole point
  • Flow is strongest in the rainy and shoulder months, roughly Jun-Nov
  • Your ticket also covers Than Mayom on the same day

How to get there

From the central west coast (Klong Prao) it is a short 5-10 min taxi ride inland to the car park, then an easy ~600 m jungle trail. From the ferry piers about 20 min by songthaew.
