About Huay Kaew Waterfall
Be honest with yourself about this one: Huay Kaew is small, around ten meters, and it's not a destination you'd plan a trip around. What it has going for it is location, sitting right at the base of Doi Suthep just behind the Kruba Srivichai monument, so it's an easy add-on rather than a dedicated outing.
If you're already in the area, or you want a quick green space without committing a big chunk of the day, it's a reasonable stop. If you're choosing one waterfall near Chiang Mai and this is your only option, look elsewhere first, the bigger falls further out are more rewarding.
It falls under the Doi Suthep-Pui park fee structure since the late 2025 changes, so there is now a small charge even for a quick look.
