Bua Tong is genuinely unusual and it's worth the trip. The mineral coating on the limestone gives the rock a grippy, almost sticky texture, so instead of admiring the falls from the side you actually walk straight up them without slipping. It's the kind of thing that sounds gimmicky until you try it and realize it actually works.
It's free to get in, which is rare for a natural attraction this distinctive, but it's remote enough that there's no public transport out there. You're looking at a scooter or car ride, or a half-day tour if you'd rather not navigate it yourself. The falls flow year-round, so there's no bad season to go.
