About Tubkaak (Tup Kaek) Beach

If you want a genuine escape from the crowds, Tubkaak delivers. It is a peaceful, upscale beach looking straight out at the Hong Islands, and it feels a world away from the Ao Nang strip.

It also doubles as the launch point for one of Krabi's best hikes, the Dragon Crest trail up Khao Ngon Nak, so you can pair beach time with a proper climb.

Sunset here, with the Hong Islands on the horizon, is the reason to linger. Come in the dry season for the best of it.

Highlights

  • Tranquil, upscale stretch away from the crowds
  • Direct views to the Hong Islands
  • Trailhead for the Dragon Crest (Khao Ngon Nak) hike
  • Standout sunset over the islands

Tips

  • Plan a taxi, it is a fair way north of Ao Nang
  • Combine a morning hike with an afternoon on the sand
  • Sunset facing the Hong Islands is the highlight
  • Best in the dry season, Nov–Apr
