About Nopparat Thara Beach

Right next door to busy Ao Nang but a totally different mood. This is a long, quiet, tree-lined stretch where locals come to picnic, and it is honestly underrated as a calmer alternative.

The fun bit is timing. At low tide a sandbar appears and you can walk out toward a small island, which is a nice little adventure you will not find on the main beach.

Just know it has fewer facilities than Ao Nang, so it is more about the peace and the walk than shops and services. The national park pier here is also where island boats depart.

Highlights

  • Long, quiet casuarina-lined sand next to Ao Nang
  • Low-tide sandbar walk out to a small island
