About Old Phuket Town (Sino-Portuguese Quarter / Thai Hua Museum)
Old Phuket Town is genuinely charming and, honestly, underrated next to all the beaches. It's the historic core of pastel Sino-Portuguese shophouses, temples and mansions built during the tin-mining boom, and it's a lovely place to just walk.
There's street art to hunt for, cafes to hop between and heritage everywhere you look. The Thai Hua Museum makes a good anchor point and tells the story of the Chinese migrants who shaped the town.
Come in the late afternoon when the light softens and it's cooler for wandering. Give it a couple of hours and it might surprise you.
