About Patong Beach
Let's be honest: Patong is loud, crowded and touristy. It's the most developed beach on the island, backed by Bangla Road's nightlife, malls, water sports and massage shops. If you came for a party scene and easy access to everything, this is your beach.
If you came for peace and clean sand, you'll want to look elsewhere. The one time it feels calm is early morning before the crowds and jet-skis take over.
A couple of real warnings. Jet-ski and parasail scams are common, so agree every price up front. And take the red flags seriously; monsoon rip currents here have drowned swimmers.
