About Nang Thong Beach
This is Khao Lak's main beach and the most convenient one going. Soft sand out front, and a line of bars and restaurants right behind it, which makes it the obvious spot to land for a swim, a meal, and then stick around for sunset. If you are staying in town you can probably walk here.
Because it is the easy, central choice it can get busy, especially around golden hour when everyone comes for the same view. That is part of the fun, but if you want quiet this is not the beach for it.
One safety note: in the monsoon months the sea turns rough with rip currents. If you see red flags flying, stay out of the water.
