About Bang Niang Beach

Just north of the centre, Bang Niang is the roomier, calmer cousin of the main town beach. It is longer and wider, which means space to spread out and a proper stretch for a sunset walk without dodging crowds. There is a restaurant strip behind it if you want to eat close by.

If you like your beach time low-key, this is the pick over the busier town beach. You can even walk here along the sand.

The flip side of quieter is fewer facilities, and the same monsoon caution applies. Currents can get strong in low season, so swim sensibly and keep an eye on conditions.

Highlights

  • Long, wide beach with room to spread out
  • Quieter than the main town beach
  • Great for unhurried sunset walks
  • Restaurant strip just behind the sand
  • Walkable along the beach from town

Tips

  • Choose this over Nang Thong if you want more space and calm
  • Bring what you need; facilities are limited
  • Take care with strong currents in the low season
  • A short scooter or taxi hop, or just walk the sand from town

How to get there

~2–3 km north of Khao Lak centre; 5–10 min by scooter/taxi, or walk along the sand
