About Nai Yang Beach
Nai Yang is one of the mellow, local-feeling beaches on the island, tucked inside Sirinat National Park right by the airport. It's one of the rare Phuket beaches with real shade thanks to the casuarina trees, and there are low-key seafood shacks along the sand.
The airport location is actually a feature here: planes come in low overhead, so it's a favourite for plane-spotting. Between that and the shade, it's an easy place to while away a half day.
Come for the calm, local atmosphere rather than facilities or a party. In turtle nesting season it's also part of a protected nesting shore.
