About Jomtien Beach
Jomtien is the more relaxed beach just south of Pattaya over Pratumnak Hill, and it's the better choice if you actually want to get in the water. It's longer and more laid-back than the central city beach, popular with families and water-sports fans, and cleaner too.
The northern end is the quieter stretch, so head that way if you want more space and calm. It's easy to reach by baht bus or a short Grab ride, which makes it a simple half-day swap from central Pattaya.
Come in the morning on a weekday and in the dry season for the best of it. This is where I'd point anyone who found central Pattaya Beach a bit much.
