About Wat Sri Suphan (Silver Temple)
This is the temple where the entire ordination hall is clad in embossed silver and aluminium, sitting in Chiang Mai's historic silversmith quarter on Wualai Road. It's a striking, unusual sight, especially once it's lit up after dark.
One important note: women are traditionally not permitted inside the ubosot itself, so if that applies to you, plan to admire the exterior rather than expecting to go in.
It's an easy walk from Chiang Mai Gate, and if you can time your visit for a Saturday, the Wualai walking street market runs right outside, which makes for a good combined evening out.
