About Than Bok Khorani National Park
The part most people see, the emerald spring-fed pond and botanical garden in Ao Luek town, is a pleasant, easy stop. Nice for a wander, but not something to build a whole day around on its own.
What is easy to miss is that this same park stretches out to cover the offshore Hong Islands and mangrove caves, and those are the real headliners. If you have the time, the island kayaking and cave trips are where the park earns its reputation.
Go in the morning, and think of the town garden as a warm-up rather than the main event.
