About Pom Pee Viewpoint (Vajiralongkorn Reservoir)
A roadside overlook above the huge blue Vajiralongkorn reservoir, with layered mountain ridges stretching off into the distance. In the dry season you can even see drowned-forest treetops poking up out of the water, which is a strange and lovely sight.
Keep it in proportion: this is a quick photo stop, not a built-up attraction. It's just the view and a few vendors, and that's exactly what makes it a good pause on a long drive.
It sits on the highway between Thong Pha Phum and Sangkhla Buri, so it's a natural break on that long haul. Come at sunrise or golden hour for mist over the water and the best light.
