About Ko Phi Phi Don
Phi Phi Don is the inhabited, car-free hub of the archipelago, and the scenery, especially the viewpoint over the twin bays, is genuinely gorgeous. But you have to go in with clear eyes: it is heavily developed and party-oriented, and the main village is crowded and noisy.
The way to actually enjoy it is to stay overnight or seek out the quieter beaches. Once the day-trippers pile back onto their boats in the late afternoon, the place calms down and shows its better side.
It is a good dive base too, with plenty of shops. Just do not expect a secluded island getaway in the main village.
