About Ko Hong (Hong Island)
Ko Hong is one of Krabi's best island days, full stop. The emerald enclosed lagoon is the showstopper, and there is a white beach plus a proper 360-degree viewpoint hike if you want to earn a panorama.
The one honest caveat is timing. That inner lagoon gets busy with kayaks and boats by late morning, so the earlier you arrive, the more of it you get to yourself.
It sits a bit further out than the 4-Islands stops, usually reached on a dedicated Hong Islands tour, but the extra distance is well worth it.
Highlights
- Emerald enclosed lagoon, the headline sight
- White beach for swimming and relaxing
- 360° viewpoint hike over the island group
- One of Krabi's best full-day island trips
Tips
- Arrive early, the lagoon fills with boats by late morning
- Usually done on a dedicated Hong Islands tour
- Marine park fee applies, often collected on tours
- Best in the dry season, Nov–Apr
How to get there
Speedboat ~30–40 min or longtail ~1 hr from Ao Nang/Nopparat Thara pier; usually on a Hong Islands tour (~1,200–1,800 THB)
