About Doi Tung (Royal Villa & Mae Fah Luang Garden)
A mountain estate born from a royal project, with the Princess Mother's Swiss-style villa, the beautifully manicured Mae Fah Luang alpine gardens, and a treetop walk. It's cool up here in every sense, and the grounds are immaculately kept.
This one is genuinely worth it. Beyond the pretty gardens there's a real story here, the area was transformed from opium growing to sustainable crops, and you feel the positive legacy of that as you explore.
Go in cool season and hit the gardens in the morning when they're freshest. A car or tour makes life much easier given the mountain roads, and you'll want a couple of hours to do the villa, gardens, and treetop walk justice.
