About Chiang Rai Clock Tower
A golden, ornate clock tower plonked in the middle of a city-centre roundabout, designed by the same artist behind the White Temple. By day it's a pretty landmark you'll pass anyway. By night it does a short light-and-sound show with colour changes.
Let's be clear, this is more spectacle than substance. It's a fun, free, quick stop rather than a destination in its own right.
Come after dark to catch the roughly ten-minute colour show, which runs a few times through the evening. It's walkable from most old-town hotels, so it's an easy add-on before or after dinner.
