About Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit
A quick, free stop right next to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, and the smart move is to do the two together. Inside the rebuilt hall sits one of the largest bronze Buddha images in Thailand, and stepping into the cool interior is a welcome break from tramping around open-air ruins in the heat.
Unlike most sites in the park this is a working place of worship, not a ruin. Dress modestly and take your shoes off before going in. You will see people actually praying here, so keep it respectful.
The stalls around it form a low-pressure little market, fine for a drink or a browse without anyone hassling you. Twenty minutes or so and you are done.
