About Wat Sa Si

This is the quiet corner of the Central Zone that rushed visitors skip, and it is their loss. Wat Sa Si sits on an island in Traphang Trakuan pond, reached by a short footbridge, and the water setting makes it one of the most photogenic and peaceful spots in the whole park.

The temple itself is simple and lovely: a Sri Lankan-style bell-shaped chedi, a row of columns and a graceful seated Buddha. Nothing showy, just a well-composed scene surrounded by lake.

Come at sunrise or sunset when the chedi and Buddha mirror in the water. It is a short stop, but it is the kind of calm, underrated place that ends up being a favourite.
