About Wat Phutthaisawan
A calm, underrated riverside temple on the south bank, well away from the busy park core. The central prang is Khmer in style and nicely preserved, and there is a peaceful cloister lined with Buddha images that rewards a slow walk.
Most people actually see this one from the water. It is a regular stop on the sunset boat tours that loop around the island, so if you are doing an evening cruise you will likely pass it. You can also reach it by tuk-tuk plus a short ferry if you want to linger.
Late afternoon suits it, with soft light coming off the river. It is quiet and far less touristed than the island temples, which is precisely its appeal.
