About Tha Pai Hot Springs (Pong Nam Ron Tha Pai)
Set in a pretty forested corner of Huai Nam Dang National Park, these mineral-rich springs are hot enough to actually boil eggs, and people do exactly that. The source pools are scalding, so you only soak in the mixed, cooler pools further downstream where the hot water blends with the river.
It's a nice setting, but be honest with yourself before you go: the foreigner park fee strikes some visitors as steep for what you get. If you want a more natural, better-value soak, Sai Ngam to the north is the one locals point you toward.
Come in the morning or during the cool season, when sitting in warm water actually feels good rather than sweaty.
