About Sairee Beach
Sairee is the beating heart of Koh Tao, the island's longest beach and where most of the dive schools, bars and accommodation line up along the sand. If you want to be in the middle of everything, meet other travellers and divers, and end the day with a drink watching the sun drop into the sea, this is your spot.
Be clear about what it is though. This is the lively backpacker and diver base, not a secluded slice of paradise. If quiet is what you're after, you'll be disappointed. Some stretches also have boat traffic and shallow coral close to shore, so it's not flawless for swimming everywhere.
Where it really shines is late afternoon into sunset. The west-facing sky puts on a show and the beach bars come alive. Underrated for a sunset drink, overrated if you were hoping for calm and empty sand.

How to get there
This is the main hub itself: walkable along the west coast from Mae Haad pier (~10-15 min on foot or ~50-100 THB by taxi/songthaew). Most dive shops and accommodation line this strip.
