About Sai Yok Noi Waterfall
An easy roadside cascade tumbling into shallow pools, and its best feature is location: it's a short walk from Nam Tok station, the end of the Death Railway line, so it pairs perfectly with a train trip. It's free and convenient, which is really the point.
Don't build it up in your head as a destination. It's modest, and in the hot dry months it can slow to barely a trickle. Come after the rains have topped it up and it's a pleasant splash.
It gets busy with local picnickers on weekends, so weekdays are calmer. Treat it as a nice add-on to the train ride, not a reason to travel out on its own.
Highlights
- Short walk from Nam Tok station at the end of the Death Railway
- Free and very easy to reach
- Shallow pools for a quick cool-off
- Natural pairing with a Death Railway train trip
- Roadside stop on the way toward Thong Pha Phum
Tips
- Visit Jul-Dec when it actually flows, it can be nearly dry Feb-May
- Combine it with the Death Railway train to Nam Tok station
- Avoid weekends if you want to skip the local picnic crowds
- Treat it as a train-trip add-on, not a standalone destination
How to get there
About 60 km NW of Kanchanaburi on Hwy 323. It is a short walk from Nam Tok railway station (the Death Railway terminus), so you can combine train + falls. Bus toward Thong Pha Phum also passes it.
