About Hin Wong Bay
Hin Wong is a quiet, crystal-clear bay on Koh Tao's northeast coast, and it's one of the island's underrated gems. The water clarity is excellent and the peaceful setting is a nice antidote to busier spots. Sheltered from the west-coast swell, it's often glassy calm in the morning.
Just set expectations right: this is a rocky bay, not a sandy beach. You're swimming and snorkeling over boulders and coral, so pack reef shoes and you'll be glad you did.
Getting here means a steep, winding road that's a frequent scooter-crash spot. If you're not comfortable riding it, take a taxi or come by boat. Once you're down at the water though, it's calm, clear and blissfully quiet.
