About Hin Lat Waterfall
Hin Lat is the one to pick if you want the hike as much as the waterfall. Instead of a quick roadside stop, you get a shaded jungle trail that climbs past a temple and Buddhist teaching plaques to a series of small cascades and pools. It's quieter and more of a proper little walk than Na Muang, and it's free.
The honest flip side is that it's underwhelming in the dry season, when the cascades thin out. Time it for the rainy season or just after and it comes alive; go in a dry spell and you may wonder what the fuss was about.
Wear proper shoes, because the rocks get slippery, and set out in the morning while the trail is cool and quiet. Reckon on a couple of hours round trip with the walk.
