About Erawan Falls (Erawan National Park)

Thailand's most famous waterfall, and genuinely beautiful, seven tiers of turquoise limestone pools climbing up through jungle. You can swim in the lower levels, complete with little fish that nibble at your feet, and it lives up to the postcards when the water is clear and full.

The honest catch is popularity. Weekends and holidays are packed, so this is very much an early-start destination if you want the pools to yourself. The upper tiers, six and seven, need a rocky scramble to reach, so it's more than a flat walk.

Aim for late rainy into cool season for full flow and emerald pools, and get there early both to beat the crowds and to reach tier seven before they stop letting new climbers up.
