About Santichon Village (Yunnan Chinese Village)
There's real history here: Yunnanese who fled China's civil war settled this village, and you can still find it in the clay architecture, the tea houses and the food. On that front it's genuinely interesting.
Be warned it's been heavily commercialized, with photo swings, costume rentals and even a small ferris wheel bolted on. Opinions split hard, and I'll be straight with you: come for the tea and the Yunnan food, and just skip the tourist props if that stuff isn't your thing.
One good reason to time it right, the Yun Lai viewpoint sits just above the village. Pair the two, hit Yun Lai for sunrise and wander Santichon after, or do the village late afternoon.
