About Mae Fah Luang Art & Cultural Park (Rai Mae Fah Luang)
A serene teak-forest park dedicated to preserving Lanna art and architecture, with the golden Haw Kham pavilion at its heart. Run by the Mae Fah Luang Foundation, it's a proper cultural site rather than a photo backdrop.
This is one of Chiang Rai's underrated gems. It's tranquil, thoughtfully curated, and if you have any interest in northern Thai craft and heritage it rewards a slow wander.
Aim for a weekday morning when it's quietest, and remember it's usually closed on Mondays, so plan around that. Give yourself a good hour and a half or more to take it in properly.
