About Ko Pha-ngan
Ko Pha-ngan is really two islands in one. There's the hedonistic side at Haad Rin, home of the Full Moon Party, and then there's everything else: quiet north and east beaches, jungle waterfalls and a big wellness and yoga scene. Which trip you have depends entirely on where you point yourself.
The Full Moon Party is divisive, and that's putting it politely. If it's your thing, plan around the full moon. If it isn't, the rest of the island is calm, green and genuinely underrated, and you can easily avoid the party entirely.
It's the closest of the neighbouring islands to Samui, a short ferry hop, so it works as a day trip or a longer escape. Beaches are good year-round; just decide which version of the island you're after before you book.
